The Health Innovation Ecosystem: Orderly Health, Airstream Health, Catalyst HTI & More

DENVER, Colo. – January was a busy month for Colorado’s health innovation ecosystem. CereScan CEO John Kelley advocated for the treatment of veterans with war-related trauma. 10.10.10 Health 2016 alum Cathy Caplener announced the formation of her health-tech startup, BabyWeConnect. And Jake Rishavy, VP of Innovation at Denver South, spoke with CyberMed News about the ecosystem’s origins.

From Boulder to Littleton, Colorado’s health-tech innovators started the year off with a bang. Here are the investments, partnerships, and expansions that made the headlines in January.

Denver-based digital health company Orderly Health was added to the investment portfolio of TreeHouse Health, a Minneapolis-based innovation center. As part of the agreement, TreeHouse Health will invest an undisclosed amount in Orderly Health.

Jake Rishavy spoke about the origins of Colorado’s health innovation ecosystem last month.

“Orderly Health has created an elegant solution designed to help consumers of healthcare better self-manage their care,” said J.D. Blank, managing director of TreeHouse Health. “They bring a much better user experience to a complicated system.”

2017 is going to be an interesting year for Boulder-based digital health startup Airstream Health. Committed to helping self-insured employers reduce their healthcare costs, the company recently added new members to its team. And, just last week, Airstream Health was admitted into the 2017 class of Techstars Boulder.

“They are pioneering a new type of health plan for self-insured employers that is network-less, provides a higher level of service and support, and saves employers and employees significant money,” wrote Natty Zola, managing director of Techstars Boulder. “It’s a big, hairy, ambitious vision that’s different from anything else out there, and it’s starting to work.”

Denver-based industry integrator Catalyst HTI announced that angelMD, a Seattle-based health-tech investment platform, has agreed to move its headquarters into the building when Catalyst HTI opens in early 2018.

“We are looking forward to working with Catalyst HTI to accelerate digital health innovation in Denver and across the country,” said Tobin Arthur, founder and CEO of angelMD. “Our partnership will be a valuable asset to drive change in how individuals, especially medical professionals, invest in the innovation taking place throughout the healthcare industry.”

CereScan CEO John Kelley advocated for veterans with war-related trauma in early January.

January was another big month for Littleton-based CereScan. The cutting edge brain imaging company added Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) to the national network of providers that offer its services.

“We’re honored to partner with a nationally recognized provider,” said John Kelley, CEO of CereScan. “Our alliance will allow CereScan’s functional brain diagnostic services to be available to patients and practitioners in the Midwest region.”
