DENVER, Colo. – With the launch of Startup Health Colorado, the start of preparations for 10.10.10 Health 2017, and the widespread speculation as to what a Trump presidency would mean for health innovation, this was another big month for the Colorado digital health ecosystem. Here’s a recap of the health-tech partnerships, grants, and other developments that made the headlines in November.

Greenwood Village-based Recondo Technology, builder of cloud-based healthcare revenue cycle solutions, recently closed a $16 million funding round. The funds will assist in the development of software products designed to improve financial outcomes for healthcare services.

“I am extremely proud of our team’s execution in driving growth in excess of 50 percent year-over-year, while simultaneously achieving corporate profitability for the first time in the company’s history,” said Jay Deady, CEO of Recondo Technology. “Recondo is poised to leverage this investment to further execute on our aggressive growth strategy.”

Denver-based Orderly Health, developer of health plan management software, has been awarded a $250,000 Advanced Industries Grant by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). Orderly Health will use the grant to build their team, further improve their product, and develop a commercialization strategy.

“We moved to Colorado to start our business specifically because of the ecosystem we saw here,” said Kevin Krauth, CEO of Orderly Health. “Having the government and publicly-funded grants step in to help is hugely important, particularly when you’re looking at an ecosystem with such a massive gap between starting and sustaining a company.”

Denver-based VisibleHand, a digital health startup focused on the senior care market, was also awarded a $250,000 Advanced Industries Grant by OEDIT. According to Matt Morris, the company’s CEO, the funding will be used to build alert features, predictive analytics, and real-time support for senior care professionals.

Boulder-based Radish Systems, maker of visual interactive voice response solutions, has partnered with Montuno Software to create a medication adherence software platform. The program will combine Montuno’s Dosecast medication management app with Radish Systems’ visual telehealth systems to allow healthcare providers to better communicate with patients.

Denver-based telemedicine company CirrusMD has announced a partnership with Maryland-based Emergency Medicine Associates (EMA). The partnership will give health systems and patients in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area remote access to local emergency medicine providers.

“Our HIPAA compliant technology allows patients to access convenient, timely medical care with local physicians in the same way doctors address concerns for their friends and family – through secure text and video chat on their mobile device or computer,” said Nick Assad, SVP of Business Development for CirrusMD.

And in the spirit of Veteran’s Day, Littleton-based brain imaging company CereScan recognized the achievements of their scientific and medical board member retired Major General Gale Pollock. Pollock was the first woman and non-physician to serve as the US Army’s Acting Surgeon General.
